The Rocky Mountain Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (RMHPBA) held its Annual Gathering on June 6–7 at the Grand Hyatt Vail, bringing together 59 attendees for education, networking, and industry updates.
“The primary goal for every year is to provide a chance for our members to be given a live update of what is going on in the HPBA and RMHPBA, a chance for them to network and get some education,” said Larry Grogan, RMHPBA Executive Director.
The agenda included NFI Core Reviews, marketing strategy sessions, and technical education. “The technical classes were the most attended classes because they had a chance to learn something and get technical CEUs for NFI,” Grogan noted.
The government affairs session was well-attended, fueled by concerns over ongoing efforts to restrict natural gas use in Colorado.
“Colorado is one of the states that is pushing for a gas ban,” Grogan said. “We are working to help them as an association, and we need members to get involved and to be aware of what is going on locally.”
The annual gathering also offered sessions on social media and email marketing, highlighting strategies to engage younger audiences and keep pace with changing trends. “I think our members need to know the latest things going on in social media, because that is where all the younger audience is involved,” Grogan emphasized.
The event also featured a raffle with prizes like a 30-inch electric fireplace and a Southwest Airlines gift card to add excitement.
With sessions spanning technical education, marketing strategy, and policy updates, the RMHPBA Annual Gathering in Vail delivered a look at key issues facing the industry.
“It was a wonderful setting and a beautiful part of the country,” he reflected. “Just getting together and talking with others while eating good food made the event a success.”
