Stay Current on Industry Codes, Standards, and Advocacy Issues

June 2026

HPBA members recently received updates on key technical, regulatory, and legislative developments affecting the hearth industry through two educational webinars held this month.

The Codes & Standards webinar provided updates on appliance standards, building codes, and other technical developments impacting retailers, installers, and manufacturers. Topics included UL standards, including UL 1390 and UL 1391, ANSI/CSA standards, NFPA activity, ASHRAE developments, and the status of the next edition of ICC codes. Members can access the webinar slides here.

The Policy Update webinar covered the latest federal and state legislative and regulatory activity shaping the hearth industry. HPBA’s advocacy team discussed emerging threats and opportunities, consumer energy choice legislation and litigation, EPA discussions related to wood heater regulations, and other key issues impacting members. Members can access the webinar slides here.

These webinars were part of an ongoing educational series provided by HPBA’s Government Affairs team to keep members informed on issues affecting their businesses and the industry. Please note that the slide links are password protected.
