The application period for the 2026–2027 Government Affairs Leadership Academy (GALA) class is now open! The program begins in person at HPBExpo26 in New Orleans on Wednesday, March 18, and continues over 12 months of engaging hybrid sessions including an optional Capitol Hill fly-in.
GALA is the hearth and barbecue industry’s premier leadership development program, designed to help participants understand how government works and how to effectively advocate for their businesses and the industry. Through monthly calls, executive-led discussions, and hands-on experiences, participants build the skills to communicate clearly, persuasively, and confidently in both advocacy and leadership roles.
Eligibility: Applicants must be HPBA or HPBA Affiliate members who have not previously participated in GALA. Affiliate members should contact their Affiliate Executive Director before applying.
