Energy Choice Act Gains Momentum

The U.S. House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee will hold a hearing on September 16 that includes discussion of the Energy Choice Act (H.R. 3699).

Introduced by Rep. Nick Langworthy (NY-23), the bill would protect families and businesses from local energy bans, ensuring continued access to natural gas, propane, and other reliable fuels.

For our industry, this means safeguarding consumer access to fireplaces, stoves, grills, and outdoor products, while protecting thousands of small-business jobs nationwide. With 83 cosponsors, the Energy Choice Act is gaining strong traction.

This hearing is a critical step toward committee markup and, ultimately, a full House vote. HPBA members’ advocacy has helped bring the bill this far. Thank you for your continued support.

Stay tuned for hearing details, including a livestream link, and for future calls to action as we keep pushing this important legislation forward.
