Energy Choice Act Advances: Subcommittee Holds Hearing; 119 Cosponsors and Counting

The House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee held a legislative hearing on H.R. 3699, the Energy Choice Act on September 16. Lead sponsor Rep. Nick Langworthy (NY-23) testified in support of the bill, underscoring its imperative goal to preserve access to a full range of fuel options for homes and businesses. Momentum continues to build: the bill now has 119 cosponsors in the U.S. House.

HPBA remains in regular contact with Representative Langworthy’s office and continues to advocate for a committee markup, the next critical step in advancing the bill. While it remains unclear whether the potential government shutdown will affect the Committee’s schedule, HPBA will keep members informed of any developments and upcoming calls to action.
