HPBA’s Government Affairs Leadership Academy (GALA) is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 cohort. This 12-month program prepares professionals in the hearth, barbecue, and outdoor living industry to become strong advocates and effective leaders.
Through monthly virtual sessions and in-person experiences, participants learn how government works at all levels and how to communicate clearly with policymakers. The program also includes leadership discussions with executives and industry experts.
GALA participants gain:
- Connections with leaders across North America
- Skills to create clear and persuasive messages
- Practical guidance on engaging with legislators
- Leadership insight from company and industry executives
Applications for the next cohort are now open. The application closes on January 9.
Eligibility: Applicants must be HPBA or HPBA Affiliate members who have not previously participated in GALA. Affiliate members should contact their Affiliate Executive Director before applying.
